Forney Creek Hike and Ride
Transported from our office to the end of the “Road to Nowhere” in Bryson City, we begin our 4-mile hike (shorter hike is available) by walking through a tunnel! We then continue though some of the best forest the Great Smoky Mountains Park offers – with towering poplars, majestic oaks, and abundant rhododendron. We stop periodically to rest, have snacks and learn about the park and its incredible diversity of plants and animals. And the end of the hike we are at Forney Creek and the lake where we have our lunch and can go for a swim before the jet boat picks us up for the thrill ride back. Lunch is normally ham/turkey on croissants or vegetarian if preferred. Reservations at least 24 hours before are necessary. Starting time is usually 10:00 am but we can arrange the trip according to your needs. Experience it all – hiking, history, picnicking, swimming and fantastic jet boat ride.Trip includes round trip transportation from out office, guided hike, lunch, snacks, refreshments. Many who experience our combination trip remark that it was the highlight of their vacation to the area.

Click here for Extreme Combo Slide pdf” Clingmans Dome is the second highest peak on the East Coast. Hiking through the most biologically diverse area on earth, being an International Biosphere and a World Heritage Site, every thing about this hike is extreme.
Here’s your chance to experience the incredible variety of trees (over 130 species), plants (over 4000), and wildlife (60 species of mammals, including the largest concentration of black bears in the eastern U.S. – over 600 bears). The 12-mile hike will descend through all the ecosystems and the five forest types – spruce-fir, northern hardwood, pine-oak, hemlock, and cove hardwood. Small sections of the park are even classified as rainforest. The hike is challenging but overall downhill, ending up at Lake Fontana (time for a swim!). Our 12-passenger, New Zealand styled jet boat picks you up for thrilling and scenic ride back across Lake Fontana, followed by transportation to the office.

Cost is $125 per person – lunch, snacks, water, jet boat ride and all transportation is included. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring camera and raingear in your pack, and be prepared to have an experience for a lifetime and the rewards of the EXTREME HIKE COMBO TRIP.

Goldmine Loop -This season we offer a shorter hike alternative for the combination trip. This 45-minute walk in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park will take you by the remains of an old homestead - where wild hogs and sometimes black bears are seen and then it's on to the lake for lunch and time for a swim before the jet boat picks us up for the exciting ride across the lake.

Fontana Dam, Jetboat Ride - we can customize a jet boat ride trip to the Fontana Dam (highest dam east of the Rockies at 480 ft.).
The trip to the dam can be arranged for an 8:30 am to 11:30 am time frame and up to 6 people. Call us for pricing.
